Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

The Journal of Advanced Electrochemical Storage (JAES) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. Our policies are guided by the principles of transparency, fairness, accountability, and responsibility, in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Responsibilities of Authors

• Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original work and properly cite all sources. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate rejection.
• Authorship Criteria: All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the research. Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.
• Data Integrity: Authors must ensure the accuracy and reliability of all data. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is unethical.
• Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work must be disclosed.
• Ethical Approval: For studies involving humans or animals, authors must provide a statement of ethical approval from an institutional review board or ethics committee.
• Duplicate Submission: Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

• Confidentiality: Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents.
• Objectivity: Reviews must be fair, constructive, and free from personal bias.
• Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.
• Timeliness: Reviewers must complete evaluations within the agreed time and notify editors of any delays.

Responsibilities of Editors

• Fairness and Impartiality: Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, without regard to race, gender, institutional affiliation, or nationality.
• Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose any manuscript information to unauthorized parties.
• Conflict of Interest: Editors should avoid handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.
• Misconduct Investigation: Editors are responsible for initiating investigations in cases of suspected ethical violations.

Handling Misconduct and Corrections

JAES takes allegations of misconduct seriously and will act in accordance with COPE guidelines. This includes:
• Investigation of complaints related to plagiarism, authorship disputes, data falsification, or unethical research practices.
• Issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scientific record.

Open Access and Licensing

JAES operates under a Gold Open Access model. All content is freely available under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing for maximum dissemination and reuse with proper attribution.

Archiving and Preservation

All published content is permanently archived in digital repositories to ensure long-term access and preservation.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions or file complaints regarding ethical concerns. Appeals must be made in writing to editor@pubj.org and will be reviewed by the Ethics Committee.
