Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Advanced Electrochemical Storage (JAES) maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and unethical publication practices. As a peer-reviewed journal committed to academic integrity, JAES requires all submissions to adhere to the highest standards of originality and proper attribution.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes but is not limited to:
• Direct copying of text, figures, tables, or data from another source without proper citation.
• Paraphrasing large portions of another author’s work without acknowledgment.
• Self-plagiarism, i.e., reusing substantial parts of one's own previously published work without disclosure or citation.
• Submitting duplicate or redundant publications (submitting the same or similar article to multiple journals).

Plagiarism Detection

All submitted manuscripts are screened using industry-standard plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate) before peer review.
• A similarity index of less than 15% (excluding references and common phrases) is generally considered acceptable.
• Manuscripts exceeding this threshold or showing substantial uncredited overlap will be returned to the authors or rejected outright.

Editorial Actions for Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected:
• Pre-publication: The manuscript will be rejected and the authors will be notified with the plagiarism report.
• Post-publication: The article may be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued. The authors' institutions may be notified depending on the severity.
Repeated offenses may lead to:
• A ban on future submissions by the authors.
• Notification to affiliated institutions or funding bodies.

Author Responsibility

Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality of their work. Proper quotation, citation, and permission for reused material (e.g., figures, data) must be obtained prior to submission.

Reporting Plagiarism

If a reader or reviewer suspects plagiarism in a published article, they are encouraged to report it confidentially to the editorial office at: editor@pubj.org
The report will be promptly investigated by the journal's ethics committee.
